Protocol Labs is an open-source R&D lab building protocols, tools, and services to improve the internet radically. Their products serve millions of people and thousands of organizations.
We are happy to share they use NotionForms as part of their Launchpad Program operations.
Protocol Labs’ Launchpad Program is a training and networking program for people looking to develop using web3 technologies, like decentralized storage and smart contracts.
Before discovering NotionForms, the Protocol Labs team used Google Forms as their only option for building forms and processing specific data.
Google Forms was getting the job done to a certain extent.
It was doing everything the Launchpad Program needed regarding features and customization. Still, it either added extra steps to the process, created the need to add an extra tool to the team’s tech stack, or forced the team to consider using another piece of software that wasn’t a good fit for them.
  1. It added extra steps to the process because the Protocol Labs team uses Notion as their primary tool for data collection, and Google Forms sends the responses to Google Sheets. All team members had to manually copy and paste answers to Notion to have the information where they needed it.
  1. The previous option also meant they would need an additional tool in their tech stack. It may seem very irrelevant, but context switching is a burden, and ideally, teams should try to simplify as much as possible.
  1. Another possibility was to stick out with Google Sheets as their option for data collection and management. Still, Protocol Labs prefers Notion all the way due to its superiority in databases, data presentation, and integrations.
Even though the Protocol Labs team found about NotionForms via a simple Google search, NotionForms worked for them “precisely like a form application should.”
  • For them, NotionForms makes it easy to send out forms to a wide audience and collect data that will go straight into Notion.
  • It supports their most-needed Notion field types like multi-select and relation fields.

  • NotionForms saves the Launchpad Program crew a lot of work time each month by eliminating the need to copy their submission data from Google Sheets into Notion.
  • The Team likes that setting up a form is super easy once you get acquainted with the tool and how easy it is to customize your form with a cover image, rich text, checkboxes, and more.
